Last cigarette ever.
Well, here’s hoping anyway. I’ve been a smoker for the past 11 years, and I’m a whopping 27. It’s going to be a long road; one I definitely do not look forward to. However, there comes a time in your life when you know you’re finally ready to commit to something, and that time has come. I have a dr’s appt tomorrow morning, and I’m hoping he’ll prescribe Chantix, or something of the like. I’ve heard great things about that scrip; keep your fingers crossed for me. Also, keep your fingers crossed that I don’t murder somebody over the course of the next few weeks…as I’m sure they will not be the most pleasant. Alas, like everything else in life…one day at a time.
You may wanna do some research on Chantix. It’s starting to get a lot of bad reviews. People are dying over this drug.
I quit smoking on March 27, 2009 and it wasn’t easy. I did via cold turkey because that’s what worked for me. I made sure to keep a lot of gum and peppermints to kill my cravings. Everyday is better than the day before. It’s to the point now I rarely think about it and when people smoke around me it doesn’t bother me.
I wish you the best of luck.
hi, i work in the med field, and deal with a lot of patients taking chantix. it works. in fact it works almost too well. people use it and they quit after the starter pack which is 28 days. so they think they are good and don’t get the refill or continuing pack. you quit because of the drug, obviously when you stop taking the drug, you will relapse. but most people think they just conquered their demons and finally quit. like weight loss, you dont conquer a demon in 28 days. its an expensive medication if insurance doesnt cover it, so if you quit, make sure to continue it, or you may fall back. and that is a big waste of money
i quit many years ago cold turkey…and i plan to do the same in a couple of weeks…i wanted to do it when i began this diet but i thought it was too much on my plate…but whatever you do i wish you luck….
I wish you all the best with this. It will be tough as with anything else but hang tight and just keep working at it, you will do it! I have faith in you!
